Dear Friend of Europeana<\/em><\/p>\n

You’ve probably heard that a drastic cut was made in the budget for\u00a0 <\/em>the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) from 9 billion to 1 billion euros.<\/em> Many of you responded to our recent request to send letters to your\u00a0 <\/em>MEPs, to national contacts in Brussels and to your own government\u00a0 <\/em>ministers and we thank you hugely for that.<\/em><\/p>\n

Europeana is now being asked to put the case for funding under the <\/em>revised guidelines for CEF, which were issued yesterday. Europeana is <\/em>identified as an eligible digital service infrastructure in the Annex <\/em>of the Guidelines but will face severe competition for the available <\/em>funding from other digital service infrastructure such as e-Justice, <\/em>
\n e-Health and Safer Internet.<\/em><\/p>\n

We need your help to fight for Europeana’s future funding.<\/em>
\n This week, we’re launching the AllezCulture<\/strong> campaign. Please join us.<\/em><\/p>\n

We’re asking you to do two things:<\/em>
\n1. Use the attached leaflet 'Europeana – The Case for Funding’ in any <\/em>way you can to support the AllezCulture campaign. Translate, <\/em>distribute, publish and blog the leaflet or its messages to your <\/em>network and contacts, including the people you sent letters to earlier <\/em>
\n this year.<\/em><\/p>\n

2.Use our dedicated hashtag\u00a0 AllezCulture\u00a0 <http:\/\/bit.ly\/17mnbL7<\/a>> to <\/em>tweet your own examples of how Europeana supports economic growth, <\/em>connects Europe and makes Europe’s culture available to every one – <\/em>and retweet our\u00a0 AllezCulture messages.<\/em><\/p>\n

Please tell us what you have done via the\u00a0 AllezCulture Facebook <\/em>group – which will go live later this week – or by sending an email <\/em>to: AllezCulture@europeana.eu<\/a> <\/em><\/p>\n
